Teeth whitening may seem easy at first, but with all people aims to have a whiter teeth in no time, whitening products start to pound the market. People nowadays are easy to hook on commercials and ads about teeth whitening and just try it for themselves without even consulting a teeth whitening dentist.
Here are some of teeth whitening products experts are suggesting.
Whitening Toothpastes
All toothpastes out on the market help remove stains on surface, simply because they contain mild abrasives. Whitening toothpastes contain gentle polishing r chemical agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness.
Whitening toothpaste can appear to whiten teeth slightly by removing surface stains, like those caused by smoking and drinking coffee. However, these kinds of toothpastes can’t change the natural color of your teeth or lighten a stain that goes deeper than a tooth’s surface.
Some toothpaste contains blue covarine, a chemical which adhere to the surface of the teeth and created an optical illusion that can make teeth appear less yellow.
When used twice a day, whitening toothpaste can take from two to six weeks to make teeth appear whiter. Toothpastes with blue covarine can have immediate effect.
Whitening Rinses
Among the newest whitening products available, whitening rinses makes the most! Like mouth washes, whitening rinses freshen your breath and help reduce dental plaque and gum disease. These include ingredients, such as hydrogen peroxide in some, which whiten teeth. Experts say it may take 12 weeks to see significant results. Just swish them around in your mouth for 60 seconds twice a day before brushing your teeth.
Some experts say that rinses may not be as effective as other whitening products, because a whitening rinse is only in contact the teeth for such a long time – just two minutes a day compared to 30 minutes for many strips – it may have less of an effect.
Tray-based Tooth Whiteners
Tray-based tooth whitening systems, purchased either over-the-counter or from a dentist, involve filling a mouth guard-like tray with a gel whitening solution, which contains a peroxide-bleaching agent. The tray is worn for a period of time, generally from a couple of hours a day to every day during the night for up to four weeks and even longer.
In-office Whitening
In-office bleaching provides the quickest and easiest way to whiten teeth. With this process, the whitening product is applied directly to the teeth. These products can be used in combination with a special light, laser and heat. Results are seen in only one, 30 to 60 minute treatment. But to achieve dramatic results, several dentists’ appointments are usually needed. This type of whitening is also the most expensive approach.
